Lexington Police temporarily halt non-injury crash responses amid high volume of accidents

The Lexington Police Department is temporarily suspending the taking of reports for minor non-injury collisions as of 8:45 this morning due to high call volume in Fayette County.

If you have been involved in an accident and no one is injured and the vehicles are not disabled, LPD asks that you exchange information with each other and use the Kentucky State Police's online collision reporting link, https://www.kentuckystatepolice.ky.gov/civilian-collision-reports

Officials say you should still call 9-1-1 if someone is injured or the non-emergency number if a vehicle is blocking the roadway. That number is (859) 258-3600.

Between midnight and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the Lexington Police Department has responded to:

13 Injury Collisions

64 Non-Injury Collisions

43 Motorist/Citizen Assists

20 Traffic Hazards
