Wildcats' SEC Tournament run ends with fall to top-ranked Florida

The UK Wildcats came up short in their bid to defeat top seeded Florida Friday afternoon at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.

The 71-63 final score halts the team's run in the SEC Tournament.

The Cats now head back to Lexington to prep for Selection Sunday, when they'll learn who they'll face in this year's NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, Florida advances to the SEC semifinals.

The Gators never trailed and were tied once on their way to a 12th straight victory. The regular-season SEC champions will play either No. 22 Vanderbilt or No. 25 Tennessee in Saturday’s semifinals.

Florida improved to 5-13 against Kentucky at this event, including 2-4 in the quarterfinals.

Kentucky now has one more loss all-time (32) than titles (31) in this tournament. The Wildcats were playing their third game in as many days.
