UK Women cruise past Razorbacks 94-64 in SEC Tourney opener

Kentucky placed six players in double figures as the Cats rolled past Arkansas 94-64 in the first round of the 2026 Southeastern Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina.


Clara Strack led the way with 20 points, while also grabbing 13 rebounds and blocking three shots. It was her 14th double-double of the season and the 30th of her career.

Amelia Hassett hit six three-point baskets on her way to 18 points. Tonie Morgan had a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists, while Jordan Obi also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Teonni Key had 12 points for the Cats, while Asia Boone added 10.

Kentucky struck quickly in the first quarter with threes from Hassett and Boone, taking a 6-0 lead in the process. After an Arkansas basket, Morgan made a free throw and Key scored to build the lead to 9-2. The Razorbacks scored again, but UK got an Obi three-point play, a Strack free throw and another Boone three to lead 16-4. Arkansas would hit a three to cut the UK lead to nine.

Kentucky responded in a big way. Two Key free throws, a Morgan free throw, a three from Hassett, a Key basket and another Hassett three comprised an 11-0 run that gave UK a 27-7 lead. The Cats would lead 29-10 after one quarter.

Arkansas scored the first two points of the second quarter before Strack got loose underneath for a layup. After two straight Arkansas baskets, Strack scored again and Hassett hit another three to give UK a 36-16 lead. The Razorbacks made two free throws before Strack scored again to give Kentucky another 20-point lead. However, the Hogs would score the next seven points to get within 13.

Strack scored at the rim to make the lead 15, but Arkansas responded right back. Strack scored again, then the Hogs hit a three to cut the UK lead to 42-30. Arkansas would score the final five points of the half, but Kentucky led 42-33 at the break.

Kentucky re-established the double-digit lead early in the third quarter. Strack made a free throw, then Obi scored consecutive baskets. Two Strack free throws made it 49-33. After Arkasnsas scored, UK got a layup from Morgan, another three from Hassett, a Morgan three-point play and an Obi three. The 18-2 run gave UK a 60-35 lead.

The remainder of the third quarter was tight, with Morgan and Strack carrying much of the load for the Cats. Kentucky led 70-43 after three quarters.

In the final period, Kentucky would increase the lead to as many as 36 before settling for the 30-point victory.

Kentucky returns to action on Thursday, facing Georgia in SEC Tournament action. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. ET and the game can be seen on the SEC Network.
