This is one of the busiest weeks of the year for a group known as the Kentuckians Chorus. Members will once again spend Friday and Saturday fanning out all over central Kentucky, delivering musical messages of love.
"We form into quartets and we send four people out and we sing a medley of a couple of songs to whoever has purchased our singing valentines."
That's longtime Kentuckians chorus member Michael French talking with Open Studios' Tom Musgrave.
"Four guys dressed in tuxedos and we give them a rose and a card and send them on their way. We go to people's houses, we go to people's workplaces, restaurants, stores, wherever people are, we sing to them."
And coming up on this Friday's open studio segment, you'll hear some of the wacky and wonderful stories associated with the singing telegram business. Information on how you can order your own is available at https://www.thekentuckians.org/SingingValentines2026.
