In addition to increasingly frequent appearances on 24-hour news outlets and a trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Beshear has been taking his message for Democrats looking for decisive wins in November to big-name shows with a different kind of reach.
And while the governor is sticking with his pragmatic platform, he's sounding more pointed on certain questions. Take the ICE raids that have led to the killing of Americans.
"Every ICE agent should be withdrawn from every city and every community that they're in," Beshear told The View. "This organization has to be reformed from within from the top down. Sec. (Kristi) Noem needs to be fired."
As for candid conversations about 2028, that's still relegated to speculation — and some joke fodder.
On Comedy Central's The Daily Show, host Jon Stewart was skeptical Beshear and fellow Democratic governors haven't casually chatted about which way they're leaning.
"You guys have not discussed with one another whether you'll run for president? You don't go out to coffee and... go 'Hey man, are you going to Iowa?"
Beshear lobbed back, saying, "Well Jon, we're here. Are you doing it?"
While Republicans have made light of Beshear's possible presidential ambitions, his travel overseas on the state dollar is what's prompted the most outrage on the right — with Republican Rep. TJ Roberts calling the Davos trip "political self-indulgence" and re-filing a bill that would require the governor to get approval from the state treasurer for out-of-state travel.
Beshear's office says those trips support economic development in the state.
