Kentucky (16-7, 7-3 Southeastern Conference) got a season-high 20 points, plus 11 rebounds, from Brandon Garrison. Collin Chandler tied his career high with 18 points.
Oklahoma scored the first two points of the game but UK got on the board when Denzel Aberdeen hit a three. The Sooners scored the next four points before Andrija Jelavic hit a corner three to tie the game at 6-6. Oklahoma scored to take the lead back, then Oweh made one-of-two at the line to cut the deficit to one. The Sooners scored again to lead 10-7.
Jelavic hit his second three of the contest to tie the game at 10-10. The Sooners hit a free throw to take the lead back, but Aberdeen answered with a three to give UK a two-point lead. Oklahoma tied the game before Oweh drove to the basket for a dunk, giving the Cats a 15-13 lead. The Sooners answered with a basket to tie the game for the fourth time, then hit a three to lead 18-15.
Mo Dioubate made two free throws to cut the deficit to one, then Jasper Johnson hit a three to give UK a 20-18 advantage. Oklahoma tied the game before Dioubate and Garrison each scored underneath to give the Cats a 24-20 lead. The Sooners hit a three to get within one before Garrison made two free throws to give UK a 26-23 lead.
Oklahoma hit two free throws to get within one before Johnson scored on a runner. The Sooners hit a three to tie the game, but Chandler answered with a three of his own and UK led 31-28. A Malachi Moreno free throw gave the Cats a four-point lead but the Sooners scored to cut the lead in half.
Oweh hit a three to make it 35-30 before Oklahoma hit two free throws to get within three. The Cats closed out the half in style with two threes from Chandler and a Dioubate layup, which gave Kentucky a 43-32 lead at the half.
Moreno started the second-half scoring with two free throws. Oklahoma scored before Oweh did the same, giving UK a 47-34 lead. Jelavic made a free throw and Chandler made two more to build the lead to 16 points. The Sooners hit two free throws to make it 50-36.
Oweh hit a three, then two free throws to extend the lead to 55-36. The Sooners responded with a 10-2 run, cutting the UK lead to 57-46. Garrison scored in the lane, then Oweh scored on a fast-break layup and the Cats led 61-46. Oklahoma would hit a three to get within 12, but Jelavic scored to stretch the lead to 63-49.
UK used a five-point scoring streak to lead 68-51. From there, Oklahoma would only get as close as eight points. Kentucky won for the seventh time in the last eight games.
Kentucky returns to action on Saturday, hosting Tennessee at Rupp Arena. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on ESPN.
