Denzel Aberdeen, Trent Noah and Otega Oweh each scored 16 points. That marked a career high for Noah and a season high for Oweh.
Kentucky (5-2) got 14 points from Collin Chandler and 13 points and 11 rebounds from Malachi Moreno.
The Cats made 15 of 30 from behind the arc in the game, including 12 of 17 (70.6 percent) in the second half.
Tennessee Tech scored the first four points before Kam Williams broke free underneath to get Kentucky on the board. Aberdeen scored, Moreno hit two free throws and Oweh scored on a dunk to make up an 8-0 run.
TTU scored the next four points before a Chandler dunk gave UK a 10-8 lead. After the Golden Eagles hit a three, Noah answered with a three of his own and the Cats led 13-11. TTU hit a free throw but Noah hit two and the Cats led 15-12. However, the Golden Eagles scored six in a row to lead 18-15.
Kentucky then got layups from Aberdeen and Brandon Garrison to briefly take the lead back. However TTU scored four in a row to lead by four. UK then got a Garrison dunk and a Moreno layup to tie the game at 23-23.
After the Golden Eagles took at 25-23 lead, UK scored nine in a row, including a three from Noah and two Chandler layups, to lead 32-25. After a TTU free throw, the Cats got a Chandler three, a Moreno dunk, a Jasper Johnson layup and a Noah layup, comprising a 9-0 run that gave Kentucky a 41-26 lead. The Cats led 43-28 at the half.
Tennessee Tech scored first in the second half, but UK quickly scored eight in a row. After a TTU three, Kentucky scored nine more in a row. Altogether, it was a 17-5 run that gave Kentucky a 60-33 lead. After a TTU bucket, UK got a three from Noah and a Johnson bucket to extend the lead to 30 points, 65-35.
The final margin of victory was Kentucky’s largest lead of the game.
Kentucky returns to action on Tuesday, hosting North Carolina in the ACC/SEC Challenge. Tipoff is set for 9:30 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on ESPN.
