Fayette County Public Schools is touting a 92% four-year graduation rate, an all-time high for the district. FCPS board chair Tyler Murphy also took to social media to highlight several other data points — among them, two-thirds of schools posted increases in overall accountability scores, and for a second year in a row, no schools were flagged for low achievement among Black students or students facing poverty.

The county also outperformed state averages at elementary, middle, and high school levels.
But as always, areas for improvement remain. Russell Cave Elementary ranked among the bottom 5% of schools in the entire state and more broadly, science scores are an area of focus.
The Kentucky Department of Education pointed to special programs, such as the Kentucky Reading Academies and Numeracy Counts initiatives, as factors contributing to higher scores this year.
