"We have seen three straight years of decreases in overdose deaths, thank God," Beshear said. "This last year, we saw a 30.2% decrease in 2024 compared to the previous year, which gives us a lot of hope moving forward, and we're committed to building on this progress."
And Gov. Beshear announced that six additional Kentucky counties have been certified as Recovery Ready Communities for their commitment to providing residents with access to addiction treatment and recovery support and removing barriers to the workforce. They are Boyd, Carter, Clay, Greenup, Letcher, and Owsley.
A total of 31 counties in the commonwealth are now certified.
