“Our Sacred Music Festival is sure to lift you up,” Gorton said. “This celebration is a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate great talent, and showcase the music and spirit that makes our city so special.”

Doctor Everett McCorvey, director of the UK's opera theater program and founder and music director of the African spiritual ensemble, says this project has been near and dear to his heart and has been decades in the making.
"We have 25 concerts in one week. We are in 22 different venues around the city. And so I'm really excited about that, from concert halls to churches, to chapels, to theaters, to museums, to synagogues, to sanctuaries, places of peace, McCorvey said. "We are all over Lexington, and that was by intent."
And places of worship are being asked to participate at noon on September 21st by singing, tapping a gong, clapping pan lids, letting the church bells ring, or joining in a citywide rendition of 'Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee.'
In One Accord Sacred Music Festival takes place from September 21st through the 28th.
