First of three sentencings in Crystal Rogers case set for today

54-year-old Steven Lawson was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence. He's one of the men convicted in the disappearance and presumed death of Crystal Rogers.

Rogers disappeared in 2015, and her remains have never been found. Lawson testified in court that Lawson's then-boyfriend, Brooks Houck, approached him about "getting rid" of the mother of five just days before she went missing.

A jury recommended a 17-year sentence for Lawson. His defense team has filed a motion for a new trial.

Houch and Lawson's son, Joseph, were also found guilty of murder and tampering with physical evidence. They are scheduled to be sentenced on August 21st.

Wednesday's sentencing is set for 3:00 p.m.
