As Governor Andy Beshear's national profile continues to rise, speculation about a potential presidential run remains a topic of discussion.

There have been more frequent trips to other states on Beshear's calendar lately to address the future of the Democratic Party, such as last week's visit to South Carolina. Then came a feature in Vogue in which he joked about being the only person to ever appear in the fashion magazine's pages wearing Gap jeans.

"Who would ever have thought I'd be in Vogue magazine? That was not on my bingo card," Beshear said.

At a successful podcast in his position as the next head of the Democratic Governors Association, inquiring minds want to know what he sees for his political future. Beshear said right now, he's simply trying to be a reasonable voice of common sense, common ground, and getting things done.

"And while I'm trying to be that voice out there and people may think it's a voice for Democrats, I just hope every political party can come together," said Beshear. "We can end this us-versus-them. We can stop this anger politics and find a way to heal and to move forward, together."

Beshear has acknowledged that he is considering a run for president. As of today he's not saying yes or no, but "We'll see."

"If I am a candidate that can heal this country, then it's something I'll consider. If someone else is that candidate, they'll have my support."

Beshear visits South Carolina to introduce himself as a Democrat who can unite all parties. He won the Governor's seat in a red state for two consecutive terms.

The Governor said what he loves most about the recent influx of national attention is the positive spotlight it puts on the Commonwealth.

"If I can share what we've done, which is way bigger than me, this is all of Kentucky with the rest of the country, that that makes me pretty proud," Beshear said. "And to see that really for the first time in my lifetime, people are looking up to us instead of looking down on us, that makes me really proud to be the governor of Kentucky."
