"When we began, many people told us that they did not think a theatrical model like this one could survive in our market," Lyndy Franklin Smith with The Lexington Theatre Company said. "But 10 years and a global pandemic later, here we are!"
Smith was announcing that 42nd Street, the professional theater company's first production, would return as the Lex celebrates its decade anniversary.
During those years, the company has worked to nurture local talent, bring in Broadway stars, and launch some careers.
42nd Street was considered a good showcase for the Lex when it began, and now, it's a reminder of what it's achieved.
The show will run for six performances at the Lexington Opera House, starting tonight at 730 and running through Sunday.
