Kentucky leaders on Capitol Hill are responding to the Israeli strikes on Iran—with some urging the president to avoid becoming entangled in the conflict.

Sen. Rand Paul posted "No war with Iran" to his X feed, going on to urge President Trump not to join any war between other countries.

Sounding a similar note, Congressman Thomas Massie wrote that Israel doesn't need US taxpayer money for defense if it has enough to start "offensive wars," saying he would not vote to fund what he called a war of aggression.

Congressman—and US Senate candidate—Andy Barr said Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. While applauding the Trump administration's efforts in the region, he went on to say he stands with "our greatest ally Israel as they fight another existential threat."

Without endorsing direct US involvement in the conflict, Sen. Mitch McConnell said America must stand "shoulder-to-shoulder" with Israel and democratic allies against threats posed by Iran and its proxies.
