President Donald Trump approved another major disaster declaration for Kentucky over the weekend.

"If ever there were a clear case, this is it," Sen. Mitch McConnell said, addressing federal disaster relief following his tour of tornado damage in Laurel County.

Shortly after President Trump did sign off on his third disaster declaration for the state this year — his one applying to areas hit by severe weather, including an EF-4 tornado, in mid May.

Residents in affected regions can access different types of assistance, ranging from grants for home repair to low-cost loans to cover property losses.

In all, FEMA has okayed about $57 million in aid to Kentucky as part of the previous two disaster declarations in 2025.
