Residents of 13 Kentucky counties impacted by the April 2 storms are eligible for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

Residents in Anderson, Butler, Carroll, Christian, Clark, Franklin, Hardin, Hopkins, Jessamine, McCracken, Mercer, Owen, and Woodford counties can apply for emergency food assistance through Disaster SNAP — which was approved on May 2.

The D-SNAP program offers short-term food help to individuals and families in counties that receive a federal disaster declaration that includes individual assistance.

Additionally, residents receiving D-SNAP or regular SNAP benefits can purchase hot, prepared food at authorized retailers with their benefits through the end of May.

The fastest way to receive D-SNAP benefits is by calling the Department for Community-Based Services at 855-306-8959.
