Michael Jung and FischerChipmunck FRH dominated and dazzled from start to finish at the Five Star equestrian event at the Kentucky Horse Park. Samantha Lederman has this recap.

About a hundred thousand people flocked to the park over the course of the weekend to watch the reigning Olympic Champions of both Show-Jumping and Eventing, as well as the top riders from all over the world compete at the very highest level.

Germany’s Michael Jung won the gold medal at the World Equestrian Games here in 2010 and is the reigning Olympic Champion - on Sunday afternoon he added a record breaking 5th Kentucky win to his tally. Governor Beshear presented him with the trophy.

Jung attributed his success partly to luck and partly to his fondness for the venue.

Boyd Martin finished 2nd behind Jung and as the highest placed American rider he becomes the 2025 USEF National 5* Champion.

Listeners might remember Lederman and her English accent from when she was a morning news anchor on WUKY from 1999 to 2001.
