Some bills that did receive Beshear's approval are SB 120, which requires coaches to report suspected child abuse or neglect, SB 169, which allows internet service providers, social networking platforms, and others to be subpoenaed in child exploitation investigations, HB 313 which establishes June as Kentucky history month, and HB 38.
“House Bill 38 increases the penalties for violating a protective order.” Beshear said, “That means those that go to the court seeking help who are in danger will be just a little bit safer.”
The Governor said he vetoed bills that "harm state workers or violate Kentucky's constitution."
Lawmakers return to Frankfort this Thursday and Friday for the final days of the 2025 legislative session.
With a GOP supermajority, they will be able to override the Governor's current vetoes.
