Lextran Downtown Transit Center will close April 7 for 8-month renovation project

The project will be the Transit Center's first major update since its completion 34 years ago.

Changes will include a redesigned customer service area, updated public restrooms and waiting spaces, an improved break room for staff, and space for a future retail convenience area.

During construction, transit operations will move to High Street, directly behind the center. Riders should expect some inconveniences, including no access to public restrooms, indoor waiting areas, or water fountains. Seating and shelter will be limited, so Lextran advises passengers to prepare for weather conditions.

Bus passes will not be sold at the Transit Center but can be purchased online or at Lextran’s administrative office at 200 West Loudon Avenue. Customer service functions, including phone support and lost and found, will also be relocated there.
