Lexington mayor, police chief respond to uptick in gun violence; ask for community's help

Three people have died in separate shootings in the city in the past week, two of the victims are teenagers.

Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers said that his department is working alongside the One Lexington team and community partners to investigate and solve these cases.

Chief Weathers and Mayor Linda Gorton are asking for the "full support of our entire community" and encourage you to contact them with any tips by calling Lexington Police at 859-258-3600. You can also make an anonymous report through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at 859-253-2020.
