Universities across the USA received letters from the US Department of Education earlier this month directing them to end affirmative action programs - and, with them, the tools to intentionally de-segregate learning environments and workplaces.

In response to state and federal attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, Kentucky students will be holding all-day demonstrations on the campuses of every public university in the state.

The statewide “Day of DEI” is a joint project of Kentucky Students for DEI and Kentuckians for Higher Education, with students at each university organizing protest actions. UK students plan to make a mural outside of the student center while Morehead State students hold a march and U of L students write letters to legislators.

Three demonstrations will be taking place within the WUKY listening area on the campuses of EKU, UK, and KSU.
