According to most weather models more than 4 inches of snow is expected in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Virginia Tuesday night into Wednesday.

The cold snap arrives just days after a storm system marked by heavy winds and flash flooding swept through parts of the South over the weekend, leaving at least eleven people dead in Kentucky.

Governor Beshear provided an update on the situation mid-morning Tuesday before traveling to Pikeville and other areas of Eastern Kentucky that were hardest hit from the weekend’s storm.
