Weather got you comfortably numb? Warm up with some Pink Floyd courtesy of the Lexington Philharmonic

The Lexington Philharmonic is partnering with Windborne Productions to bring the music of Pink Floyd to the stage this Friday.

In a career-spanning concert fusing prominent Pink Floyd recreators with a live orchestra, Lexington musicians are hoping to bring new dimensions to the legendary band's work.

Philharmonic conductor Mélisse Brunet says it's a performance meant to please both diehard Floyd fans and listeners who are new to the band's music.

"The set list is mostly made of some major major albums, major songs. So it's very interesting also to have a show with a symphonic orchestra and a Pink Floyd band to have both arrangements," Brunet says. "It's gonna be really cool.

And as for that famous Pink Floyd atmosphere...

"There is going to be a light show, laser show — and, yeah, it's gonna be very Pink Floyd," she adds.

Following weeks of wintry weather, Brunet and company have "high hopes" the show will bring in plenty of Lexingtonians ready to spend a little — you guessed it — "money" to hear see the performers "in the flesh."

The concert is set for Friday night at 7 p.m. in the Singletary Center with more information at lexphil.org.
