“I think that there’s more connectivity than ever in the world and the ability to communicate well in so many different ways and different platforms is becoming more important than ever, and our students are going to be the communicators of the future, and they will be shaping the narrative of our society in the future,” Wrigley Miller said. “So, I believe that it’s so important for them to have the kind of education that will be provided here.”
Wrigley Media has long partnered with the college and plans to grow the media production workforce in Kentucky's growing film industry through internships that allow students to train in the field.
“It just really brings home the importance of developing those skills and being able to put them to work in an actual setting,” Wrigley Miller said. “What I’m most proud of, some of those interns are now working in the industry in Los Angeles, but I want them to come back to Kentucky.”
Wrigley Miller is a journalist, filmmaker, and horsewoman. She opened LEX Studios this past summer, a 50,000-square-foot facility with three sound stages, and the infrastructure to attract national and international television and film productions to the Bluegrass State.
