Kentucky counties chosen for post-election audit

Attorney General Russell Coleman has announced the 12 randomly selected Kentucky counties that will undergo an inquiry following the 2024 General Election.

The draw was held on Wednesday and the counties selected are: Calloway, Jefferson, Daviess, Jessamine, Boyle, Barren, Warren, Campbell, Metcalfe, Edmonson, Lincoln, and Trigg.

The Attorney General’s Office monitors potential election law violations throughout the year through the Election Fraud Hotline. This November, the Hotline received more than 700 messages, including nearly 350 on Election Day. 150 of the complaints received on November 5th were from Jefferson County, where delays were reported due to a software issue.

"We at the Attorney General's office stood and stand to protect the security of the ballot and the integrity of our very elections."

Coleman says after completing independent investigations of the 12 counties, DCI and the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit will present their findings to a grand jury of each audited county.
