Secretary of State Adams expects high voter turnout

Karyn Czar

Kentucky Secretary of State reports few problems and expects a high voter turnout today. Michael Adams says other than a technical snag in Louisville this morning that created long wait times at the polls, early voting has helped lines move quickly today.

“Overall, it’s been a very smooth day. We actually are getting reports of light lines in places like Lexington because so many people voted early, which is what we wanted. We wanted to smooth this out.”

Adams said he’s optimistic about voter turnout numbers this year.
“My gut is we’ll have about 5% vote absentee, about 30% vote early, and about 65% vote election day.”

Polls close at 6:00 p.m. and if you are in line at that time, you will be allowed to cast a ballot.
