Corrie was crushed by an Israeli bulldozer in 2003 while protesting the demolition of a Palestinian home in the southern Gaza Strip.

  • Egypt's new President Mohammed Morsi is on his first major foreign tour. He's visiting China, and later this week Iran which is hosting a summit of the Non-Aligned Movement. Morsi says he wants to re-assert Egypt's influence in the Middle East and work with other regional powers to find a way to end the conflict in Syria.
  • Republicans meeting in Florida will officially nominate Mitt Romney as their presidential nominee Tuesday. The convention gets into full swing after a day of weather delays. The platform committee says final approval of the document will come this afternoon.
  • Clearwater, Fla., is in the swing county of Pinellas. That county went to George W. Bush in 2004 and Barack Obama in 2008. Now it's up for grabs. Steve Inskeep talks to Clearwater Mayor George Cretekos about voters' concerns there.
