Canadian Poet Inspires Men's Community Choir
Canadian poet and folk troubadour Leonard Cohen is known for writing haunting, provocative songs, songs about religion and women and politics. His music struck one Bay Area artist with a vision: that there should be a community choir of men, singing a cappella, exclusively from the Leonard Cohen songbook. NASA Rover Curiosity has been making history since it descended onto the surface of the Red Planet. At a news conference Monday, the rover made history again when it broadcast from the surface of Mars. NASA sent a data file of the recording up to the rover, and then beamed it back down.

Miami may bring to mind images of the sea and palm trees, but according to park advocates, it also suffers from a lack of green space. That can make it difficult for downtown residents to find places to enjoy the outdoors. Advocates are trying to remedy that — in the face of ongoing downtown development.
