Saving Stories: Kentucky Soldier Gives First-Hand Account Of D-Day Invasion

Thursday marks the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion and in a special edition of Saving Stories we hear a first-hand account of what it was like for the thousands of soldiers sent on a do-or-die mission to liberate France from the Nazis.

Kentucky native Jesse Beazley was one of the thousands of U-S soldiers who stormed Omaha Beach on the sixth of June, 1944.  Hear his first hand account of that harrowing day that changed his life, not to mention the course of the war in the European theater.
