More that 30-thousand students arriving on UK’s campus in the next few weeks for the start of the fall semester will be required to get tested for COVID-19. UK Police Chief Joe Monroe said its part of the University’s overall culture of trying to make a healthy environment for students, faculty and staff amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The testing plan in meant to establish a baseline to make sure everyone that starts the school year is negative. If a student does test positive, UK is providing specific housing for quarantine. The University will also begin contact tracing and notify anyone who could be affected. Testing is free and you are asked to pre-register for an appointment. Monroe said they are averaging about 200 tests an hour and results are available within 24-36 hours.
The testing sites will be open from 8 am to 4 pm through August 22nd.

- Blazer Dining on South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (walk-up testing)
- Greek Park on Rose Lane (walk-up testing)
