Winter weather is putting the state's legislative business on hold this week.
Roughly half of this year's 30-day regular legislative session remains as the General Assembly heads home for the week as successive winter storms wreak havoc across the state.
With a fixed March 30 adjournment date, the snow days will force some rearranging of the calendar — including pushing back the deadline to file bills to February 23.
Legislative leaders had hoped to hit the ground running in budget talks after the January break, having already passed a placeholder budget, but the one-year spending plan has yet to take shape.
Lawmakers are set to return to work on Monday.
