KSP Commissioner PJ Burnett said the operation was larger than most, spanning a number of branches, including Drug Enforcement, special investigations, intelligence, and other entities across the state.
"Typically, such roundups are tighter towards one particular post," he said. "This statewide initiative is to show a clear message across Kentucky. To those who continue to distribute illegal drugs in our communities, the Kentucky State Police and our law enforcement partners, local and federal, will focus our efforts to cease such activities."
The result was 206 drug arrests and 490 drug charges.
"The preliminary results from this operation indicate a significant removal of illegal drugs from our communities and streets," Burnett added.
Other seizures include: 14 illegal firearms, %37,000 in drug related money, $10,000 in stolen tools, and a stolen vehicle.
No injuries were reported among police communities or those arrested. The operation is ongoing, however, with 50 targets still at large.
