The Railbird music festival returns to Lexington this weekend with a big Kentucky name at the top of the lineup – alongside a lengthy list of artists familiar to WUKY listeners.

Heading up the two-day Railbird Festival Sunday night at the Ride Mile is a Kentucky native turned national name.

"It is really an honor to have Chris Stapleton headlining this year. We've wanted to have Chris for a long time with his ties to Lexington." Festival executive Ted Heinig says that’s in addition to Rock & Roots favorites including "Counting Crows, Dwight Yoakam, Lord Huron, the list goes on and on..."

New additions this year include a Bourbon Hideout, with bourbon producers doing special blends for the festival. Festival organizers have also run a sewer connection out to the field, allowing for "the closest thing to regular restrooms" one can have mid-field.

Full details on parking, how to get in, what’s allowed, and the how to few one of the few remaining tickets are Railbirdfest.com.
