Though it's too late to request a mail-in absentee ballot, voters with a qualifying excuse can cast their ballot early next week at the Fayette County Clerk's Office.

Polls will be open Monday the 13th through Wednesday the 15th between 8 AM and 4:30 PM. Qualifying excuses include schedule conflicts with election day caused by surgery, pregnancy, disability, and military service.

No-excuse early voting takes place later in the week. From Thursday the 16th through Saturday the 18th, any registered voter may cast their ballot at one of the 6 Fayette County Public Library voting centers – with no excuse necessary. Polls will be open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at Beaumont Branch Library, Central Library, Eastside Branch Library, Northside Branch Library, Tates Creek Library, and Marksbury Family Branch Library.

On the day of the primary, all precinct locations will be open from 6 AM to 6 PM. Regardless of when you choose to vote, you will need to bring an ID with both your name and photograph, like a driver’s license. Other valid forms of identification include those issued by the State of Kentucky, the U.S. Government, the U.S. Department of Defense, or a U.S.-based University containing both the voter’s name and photograph. For more information on early voting, Kentucky’s voter identification requirements, or to find your voting location, you can visit the Fayette County Clerk's website.
