WUKY/Ricochet Effect Woman of Distinction: Marilyn C. Clark

WUKY and Project Ricochet are celebrating Women’s History Month with the inaugural Women of Distinction initiative. Each Monday this month you’re going to get to know some of the women who made our list for 2024. Today we feature Marilyn C. Clark. A Woman of Distinction embodies resilience and gracefully overcomes challenges to uplift those around her. Here’s some of her conversation with Project Ricochet hosts Dr. Abeni El Amin and Renee Collins Cobb.

A little bit more about Marilyn C. Clark:

Marilyn Clark is the Economic Inclusion Manager for the University of Kentucky where she works across the enterprise to increase spending with diverse suppliers. She works closely with the procurement team, project managers, and departments to introduce minority, women, veterans, and disabled and LGBTQ owned businesses into the UK supply chain. In addition, Ms. Clark leads the Equitable Economic Development Committee, a subcommittee of the University of Kentucky’s Economic Development Collaborative. Prior to joining the University of Kentucky in January 2021, Marilyn worked in supplier diversity at the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government and Fayette County Public Schools. She is the former Vice-President and Station Manager for WLEX-TV, the NBC affiliate in Lexington, and worked in television management in Dallas, Philadelphia, and
