WUKY Welcomes New Diversity and Inclusion Consultant

WUKY, where NPR Rocks at 91.3, is pleased to welcome Dr. Abeni El-Amin as our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Consultant. In this new position, Dr. El-Amin will consult and manage WUKY’s DEIB initiatives including training, planning, and station activities. In addition, her responsibilities include the creation of a DEIB Community Advisory Board and implementation of Public Media For All’s Action Items (publicmediaforall.com).

Tom Godell, WUKY General Manager says: “Dr. El-Amin’s experience, knowledge, and compassion will be a tremendous asset to WUKY and our community. Diversity is at the core of everything we do at WUKY, and Dr. El-Amin will help us extend our reach to minority communities previously underserved or unserved by public media.”

Dr. El-Amin is an author and editor who holds Doctorates from Northcentral University, University of the Cumberlands, Colorado Theological Seminary, and Union Institute and University (in process, 2023). She has over 20 years of experience in management, occupational, and organizational development. Dr. El-Amin is co-founder of Project Ricochet, Inc, a thriving youth development organization. She has also served as the Multicultural Family Center, Executive Director for the City of Dubuque and as Chair of the Raleigh Human Relations Commission.

Dr. El-Amin began her new role at WUKY on March 20, 2023.
