From UKNow:

In the interest of the safety and well-being of the campus community, the University of Kentucky will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23, due to forecasts of bitterly cold temperatures and inclement weather.

In-person activities will not take place on campus. If winter intersession students have questions about their online class status, they should contact their instructor.

On-campus employees except Plan B (designated) employees should not report to work. If employees have questions about procedures for their work, they should contact their manager. UK is taking this step after reviewing weather forecasts, which predict snow and bitter cold temperatures that will impact traffic conditions.

UK HealthCare facilities remain open and are operating on regular schedule except for some UK Retail Pharmacy locations operating on special holiday hours.

Other important details:

  • Plan B (designated) employees are required to report to work on campus.
  • For anyone who has to be outside, find helpful information here.
  • Employee FAQs related to emergency closures are available here.
