The Breeders' Cup action may be focused on Keeneland in November, but organizers hope to draw that same audience to spots all over the city. Downtown will serve as the heart of the festival, starting off with a walking tour highlighting African-American connections to the horse industry starting at the Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden on Sunday, October 30.
Daryl Love with the Ed Brown Society says that will be followed by family-friendly activities.
Also look for the Tandy Park Takeover, a Thursday Night Live-esque festival running all week long, an equine film festival, and an international block party at Greyline Station.
And while the event list isn't yet complete, the majority of activities -- most of which are free -- can be found at breederscupfestival.com.
