Unofficial results put GOP candidates in all open KY Legislative seats

Associated Press

Three seats in the Kentucky General Assembly are expected to be filled by Republicans. Tuesday’s unofficial special election results have Republican Dr. Donald Douglas filling the Senate seat in District 22 which was left vacant after the death of Senator Tom Buford. In the House, District 51 was open following the death of Representative Bam Carney. Republican Michael ‘Sarge’ Pollock will replace Carney. And Republican Timmy Truett will fill the House District 89 seat. Representative Robert Goforth resigned from district 89 earlier this year amid accusations of domestic abuse. Tuesday’s results will be official once they are certified by the State Board of Elections.
