Are You Ready For Some (Normal) Football? Kentucky To Return To Full Capacity

The University of Kentucky expects to welcome full capacity crowds back to Kroger Field for football games starting this fall.

Bands, cheerleaders, tailgating, and other celebrated gameday traditions are set to return on Sept. 4 as UK plays its season opener against ULM. Officials are signaling no restrictions when it comes to filling the stadium.

It's a far cry from 2020, when the venue was limited to just 20 percent capacity and COVID-19 precautions were the rule of the day.

The school is already touting season and three-game ticket packages as it anticipates enthusiastic crowds of returning fans.

Kentucky football will play seven home games this fall. The team finished the 2020 season with a Gator Bowl victory over N.C. State, the Wildcats' third straight bowl win.
