New job approval numbers are out for Gov. Andy Beshear, and Sens. Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul.

The Mason-Dixon poll contains good news for Beshear, a Democrat in a deeply Republican-leaning state, with a majority — 55 percent —approving of his job performance. The governor received a positive grade from 80 percent of Democrats and 29 percent of Republicans, with his most favorable numbers coming from the Louisville, Lexington, and northern Kentucky regions.

Sen. Rand Paul won over a 53 percent of those surveyed. Asked if they would vote to replace Paul with a Democrat if the 2022 election were held today, 47 percent said no and 41 percent said yes.

The numbers flipped, however, when voters were asked about McConnell's performance, with 53 percent disapproving and 41 percent approving. The poll results run counter to McConnell's showing at the ballot box, however, where the senator easily cruised to victory in November over Democratic opponent Amy McGrath.

The Mason-Dixon poll sampled 625 registered voters between February 1 and the 4th.
