Ice, Sleet And Snow Cause Closures And Outages Across Kentucky

A layer of ice is weighing down trees and powerlines statewide, causing thousands of power outages and creating hazardous road conditions. State and local officials are asking you to stay off the roads today unless you absolutely must travel.

Countless COVID-19 vaccination and testing sites are closed today, including all the regional sites run in partnership with Kroger. If you had an appointment scheduled today, Governor Andy Beshear said it will automatically be rescheduled for next Thursday, February 18th at the same time and location. If you were set to receive your vaccine at UK's Kroger Field, they will contact you directly to reschedule.

The University of Kentucky's campus is closed and only Plan B essential workers are required to report today. There will only be on-line classes held on Thursday.

Eastern Kentucky University classes will be held virtually today and tomorrow.

All state offices are closed today. In Lexington, city offices that aren't involved in weather-related work are closed.

Several flights in and out of Bluegrass Airport are canceled.
