More COVID-19 Vaccines Are Coming To Kentucky

University of Kentucky

Governor Andy Beshear announced Tuesday that the federal COVID-19 team will increase Kentucky’s vaccine supply by an additional 5%. This is in addition to the 16-17% increase already promised by the Biden administration.

“That means since this administration took over the provision of vaccines, they have increased our allocation by 21-22% and that full increase starts this week,” Beshear said. “Again our challenges are supply, supply, and supply. We could provide a quarter-million of these vaccinations a week. We’ve been getting about 64-thousand. This will obviously increase that a little bit.”

The state is currently vaccinating those who are in Phase 1A and 1B but vaccination sites are allowed to move into 1C if they have any left-over supply that would expire if it isn’t used.
