Lexington Health Officials Urge More Testing

CDC

Lexington saw its second-highest one-day total number of positive cases of the Coronavirus on Tuesday. There were 122 cases, 89 from the University of Kentucky. Fayette County Health Department Spokesman Kevin Hall said some people believe the numbers are up because testing is up.

However, Hall said that’s not the case. “We’re hearing the reports from these testing sites that there aren’t lines at all and they have many places and many slots available. I don’t’ know why they’re not getting tested but if people have been exposed, if they’re showing symptoms, they need to get tested.”

Since the first COVID-19 case was reported in Fayette County in March, there have been 49,185 cases in the county. 948 Lexingtonians have died.
