"We Stand Together" UK Football Team Joins Protests

UK Athletics

On the heels of the NBA and WNBA strikes against systemic racism, the UK football team walked off the practice field yesterday/Thursday to support protests against racial injustice.  Defensive lineman Josh Paschal and offensive lineman Luke Fortner, the Wildcat’s Unity Council Leaders, had a virtual meeting saying the team wants to create real change and "not just talk about it."

Head Coach Mark Stoops tweeted his support saying “I want to help our players align their beliefs with their opportunities. I’m proud that they care not just for themselves, but also for the people around them and the communities where they live.”
