Lexington Sees Highest One-Day Spike Of Coronavirus Cases
Officials with the Lexington Fayette County Health Department say the city saw its’ highest one-day increase of COVID-19 on Monday. There were 62 cases, bringing the city’s total to 1,775 as of July 6. There was also another death for a total of 32 in Lexington.
The release says that since the start of July, Lexington has had 222 COVID-19 cases and 3 deaths. The Health Department warns that there are family clusters and people returning from vacations that are infected. The identified “hot spots” are in Florida and South Carolina. Health officials continue to advise wearing a mask, avoiding close contact with others, washing your hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes and while traveling you should use a drive-through or curb-side service to get your meals and other items.
