Wednesday afternoon Governor Andy Beshear will go over Healthy at School proposals. Earlier this week the Governor said “I just want to prepare everybody. We’re going to be able to go back to in person classes at least part of a week. I hope all of the week but it’s got to look different.”
One of the things that will look different; masks. School Superintendents were told Monday that faculty and students should be required to wear one. Kentucky Department of Public Health Deputy Commissioner Dr. Connie White said the move is to protect everyone at school and to the families they go home to. Beshear echoed that concern. “If we say that it should be the same and we can’t do all these things that we’re asking people to do the rest of their lives, we’re not going to be able to tell you it’s safe for kids to be all together in the middle of COVID especially for parents and grandparents that are taking care of them that may be compromised for this virus
Beshear will lay out the plans this Wednesday at 4:00 from the Old State Capitol.
