Dozens Of Tyson Foods Employees Test Positive For COVID-19 In KY

Associated Press

Officials with the Green River District Health Department have confirmed 53 employees at the Henderson County Tyson Foods Plant have tested positive for the Coronavirus. Health officials say many employees have been carpooling together and have close contact within the plant. The Health Department is trying to trace everyone who those who have tested positive may have come in contact with. Officials say the numbers rose significantly within just a few days.

Tyson would not confirm the number of positive tests among employees but a video statement from U.S. Human Resources Hector Gonzalez Senior Vice President says "We understand that people are anxious during this challenging time ... We're extremely grateful for the work our team members are doing and the role they play in the critical supply chain which extends from farm to fork. We've worked diligently to protect our workers." Gonzalez goes on to say employees’ temperatures are taken at the start of their shift, face masks are required and the plant has been deep cleaned.
