A Lexington park is getting a new playground and they need your help. Karyn Czar has details.
26-years ago, former city councilmember Sandy Shafer and her family helped build the playground at Shillito Park. Her children grew up playing there. Thursday, Shafer was back at the park with her four-year old twin-grandsons, asking for the community’s help to upgrade the park for the next generation.
The new playground will be similar to the original but will include improvements like increased accessibility and improved materials so all children can enjoy the facility. If you’d like to help, the community build is September 18th through the 21st.
