A teenage boy who was found by police in Newport, Kentucky, says he is Timmothy Pitzen, who disappeared in Illinois seven years ago. Police are working to confirm the boy's identity through DNA testing. The teen told police was being held by two men at an Ohio Red Roof Inn. He escaped and ran across a bridge into Kentucky.
Timmothy Pitzen was last seen in May 2011, when he was 6 years old. He had been traveling with his mother, she was later found dead along with a note saying her son was safe. The Federal Bureau of Investigation office in Lousiville confirmed it was working with officials in Newport, Cincinnati, Hamilton County and Aurora on a missing-child investigation.
The DNA test results could be completed as early as Thursday afternoon.
